Introducing Hazel to Longwood Gardens

Today was another beautiful Fall day. We were supposed to go back to the lake today but I just needed a few days to rest and just be. I decided a long walk at Longwood Garden's was needed. These are the most wonderful garden's and they are very close to where Grams and Pop Pop live   We love it so much that we are members.  People from all over the world visit Longwood. Since it was a week day it wasn't crowded which is just what I needed. I walked over 4 miles. I started toward the meadow but passed one of the 3 tree houses they have. I often thought how much fun it would be to bring you here with your cousin but today it was just you I brought with me in my heart. My heart is broken but these outings with you on my mind is helping to put it back together. The meadow was just beautiful with its rolling hills. After the meadow I took the woods walk and while there your mom texted me on her first outing alone. We both had our first outing alone today. After the woods I headed to the Conservatory where there was the most amazing mums display! I headed to the rose room but they were not blooming except this little pink one just for you. Then I headed outside to the Chimes Tower.  That is where Grams and Pop Pop got engaged!  On the way back from the tower I was tired and thirsty so I got a beer and popcorn and sat down in front of the amazing fountains. This was my lunch and it reminded me of being with your mom for all those days after we came home from the hospital. We had a beer and Chex mix for lunch almost every day!

While I was sitting there, a small crowd gathered in front of the fountains  A show was starting!  I didn't know they had them during the day. I have only seen them at night. So I moved closer to the back so I could hear the music they play as the fountains dance!  The music was lovely .  It brought tears to my eyes but thats ok . One song was What A Wonderful World and the other was At Last. When the show was done I walked back to the entrance through the topiary garden. This is a garden that kids love because the trees are carved like animals and things. I thought about you again running around in there. I thought about you a lot and today I noticed that I am able to think about you without being as sad as I have been over the last several weeks. You are helping to dry my tears and put a little smile on my face. Thank you my dearest grand baby!
Until next time!!  Love you, Grams
